A. General

  1. What is Portable Navigation Device (PND)?
PND stands for Portable or Personal Navigation Device. It is an automotive navigation system.

According to the Wikipedia

"An automotive navigation system is a satellite navigation system designed for use in automobiles. It typically uses GPS to acquire position data to locate the user on a road in the unit's map database. Using the road database, the unit can give directions to other locations along roads also in its database."

2. How to Choose a PND
Choosing a PND depends on a few simple criterias, quality of the map data, the user friendliness of the navigation software and the reliability and robutness of the device and GPS receiver. Read more about it on "How to Choose a PND"

3. What is GPS?
Acoording to the Wikipedia,

"The Global Positioning System (GPS) is the only fully functional Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). Utilizing a constellation of at least 24 medium Earth orbit satellites that transmit precise microwave signals, the system enables a GPS receiver to determine its location, speed, direction, and time."

4. Do I have to pay a subscription fee to use the GPS service?
No. The GPS service is free of charge.

1. Changing 2D/3D View
User can set 2D and 3D while using the navigator. Use 3D for best navigation experience.

2. How do I get updates for digital maps? Basically 2 options available.

Option 1. for existing and Registered users to download from the web portal.

Option 2. Send the device to gogopal's service center for updates.

 

C. Navigation

  1. How to set destination address
There are basically a few options to set a destination. Select Town first and then the Street or Point of Interest. Alternatively and the better way is to set the Street first and then select the town.
